1 Information We Collect
When you browse the directory: We collect standard technical information — your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent. This is collected automatically and used only to keep the site running properly.
When you use the AI Matchmaker: We collect your questionnaire answers (preferences, personality responses, and the optional "vibe word" you enter). This information is processed to generate your match results. We do not require your name or email to use the matchmaker.
When you submit a listing application: We collect your name, business name, city, country, phone/WhatsApp number, services, languages, and any other details you include in your email or application form.
When you leave a review: We collect your name (or display name), city, star rating, and written review text.
When you contact support: We collect your name and email address, and the content of your message.
2 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and display the MyMacher directory
- Process and display business listings
- Power the AI Matchmaker and return your results
- Review, approve, and publish community reviews
- Respond to support requests and emails
- Improve the site's performance and user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your data to any third party.
3 Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Period.
We may share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted services to host our website (Vercel), manage our database (Supabase), and process the AI matchmaker (Anthropic). These providers access only the data needed to perform their function and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose information as legally required.
- Business listings: Information provided for a public listing (business name, city, services, phone/WhatsApp) is displayed publicly on the directory by design — this is the purpose of a listing.
4 Cookies & Tracking
We use minimal cookies necessary for the site to function — such as remembering your category preference (hair vs. makeup). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
We may use basic analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand how people use the site — page views, popular searches, general location by country. This data is aggregated and anonymous.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work, though some preferences may not be saved.
5 The AI Matchmaker
The MyMacher AI Matchmaker uses Anthropic's Claude AI model to analyze your questionnaire answers and match you with compatible listings.
Here is exactly what happens when you use it:
- Your 12 questionnaire answers are sent securely to Anthropic's API
- The AI reads your answers alongside the public listing data and reviews
- It returns your top 3 matched listings with explanations
- Your answers are stored in our database linked to a session ID only — not to your name or email
- We use aggregated, anonymized matchmaker data to improve the feature over time
6 Business Listings
If you apply to have your business listed on MyMacher, the information you provide — business name, city, neighborhood, services, languages, hours, and phone/WhatsApp number — will be displayed publicly on the site.
You are responsible for ensuring the information you submit is accurate and that you have the right to share it. To update or remove your listing at any time, email support@mymacher.com.
7 Reviews
Reviews submitted on MyMacher are reviewed by our team before going live. Once approved, reviews are displayed publicly on the relevant listing, including your name and city.
We do not publish reviews that contain personal contact information, offensive language, or content that violates our community guidelines. If you would like a review you submitted to be removed, contact us at support@mymacher.com.
8 Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Ask us to delete your information
- Opt-out: Opt out of any communications from us
- Listing removal: Have your business listing removed at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@mymacher.com. We will respond within 5 business days.
If you are located in the European Union or California, additional rights may apply to you under GDPR or CCPA respectively. We honor all such requests.
9 Children's Privacy
MyMacher is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify users. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
